First brewed in 1901 and one of the UK's oldest surviving beer brands Double Maxim is a traditional English Brown Ale - one of only two still in existence. The drink was originally created to commemorate the return of the Maxim Gun detachment after the Boer War and it's strength was increased in 1938 therefore adding the Double to the original Maxim.
